Asics Sportstyle just revealed a new collaboration with British artist Griff.
The new project fuses Griff’s distinctive creativity with Asics’ performance heritage, bringing the concept of movement to life. The duo explored how movement extends beyond sports into creativity, self-expression and wellbeing and translated it into the Gel-Cumulus 16.

The shoe is very personal to Griff’s aesthetic. Its black colourway features a white ribbon lacing system, inspired by balletcore and movement, and nodding to Griff’s performance background and her personal style. “I wanted the shoe to feel like an extension of my everyday style,” said Griff on the drop. “I wanted to make it playful and elegant but also comfortable and something I can style from studio days to performing on stage to simply living my life.”
The silhouette is built on the classic Gel-Cumulus 16 foundation with its signature cushioning technology for solid performance and comfort.
For the launch, Asics will host a dedicated pop-up in Hackney, London (designed by architect and creative Kat Milne) with immersive elements, so we can explore and see the collab IRL, and also purchase the shoe in-store.
The Asics x Griff pop-up will run from 12-14 June at 1-3 Yorkton Street, E2 8NH in Hackney.
The Asics Gel-Cumulus 16 by Griff drops on June 12th, through select retailers and asics.com.
