NEIGHBORHOOD's Shinsuke Takizawa loves nothing more that fashion and motorcycles, and for his latest collaboration with Converse, he has blurred the line between both. A cult classic label that's been making waves since its debut in 1994, it has also been taking over the Western market, with high heat collaborations dropping left, right, and centre, and capsule collections that are instantly recognisable.
Taking on the legendary Jack Purcell and the iconic All Star Chuck Taylor 70 for this release, both models have been completely blacked out for an extra stealthy aesthetic. The Jack completely modernises the silhouette, with a black leather and suede upper and a white toe box that's reinforced with rubber, while the Chuck is inspired by the traditional motorcycle boot, complete with an oversized velcro closure that reads “Craft With Pride” and “Shift”, and a leather and canvas construction that can be worn all day, every day.
NBHD's usual detailing also makes an appearance, including "NBHDCNSJP"; on the midsole to emphasise the shoe's collaborative nature, and Kanji characters at the heel that literally translates to "resistance".
Set to release alongside a batch of matching apparel, the NEIGHBORHOOD x Converse collection will drop on Converse's web store and select retailers next week August 24th. A definite must cop for any collection, you really don't want to miss out!
