The New Balance 983 is the new kid on the block, and with all the makings of another great silhouette, we wanted to put our spin on this new model.
Caught somewhere between the chunky New Balance 9060 and the slimmer New Balance 204, the NB 983 is perfectly balanced between the two. As this shoe has only just hit the shelves, we wanted to test our styling chops and play around with a couple colourful outfits. The blues give the warmer colours something to bounce off, and means it doesn’t feel too ‘matchy matchy’. As for the accessories, they add a playful dynamic to the colder tones of the outfit, balancing out the technical panelling of the New Balance 983.
We leant into the sporty element of the NB 983 for this second outfit, with a similarly coloured track jacket from New Balance. The sage green top and grey shorts create a solid foundation, one that lets the blues pop that little bit more.
This time we didn’t hold back at all with our colour palette, achieving a look that was neatly caught between future-prep and sporty casual. The clashing silver shorts and stripey top work nicely in a sort of balanced-chaos way. Head down to our trusty pair of NB 983s, and they too add to the tonal mix, holding down the bottom half of the outfit.
Returning to a neutral palette, the long skirt and top provide the most classic look yet. However, throw in a fluffy bag for added texture alongside the blue New Balance 983s, and this outfit just got a whole load of personality.
