In the lead-up to Paris Fashion Week SS27, longstanding collaborators Comme des Garçons and New Balance delved into the archives, reinventing the 1226 running silhouette.
The partners did away with New Balance’s signature metallic sheen and monochromatic colourways, opting instead for earthy tones of khaki and brown.

The look seamlessly blends New Balance’s sporty, chunky design codes with Comme des Garçons’s signature deconstructed aesthetic via mixed materials and exposed stitching. The New Balance “N” is rendered in grey suede on the side, while Comme des Garçons Homme is printed subtly on the tongue.
The finished look is decidedly gorpcore, a shoe befitting of both a hike and a thought-out utility fit. We’re predicting this shoe will be on all the fashion-forward sneakerheads come summer.
