New Balance Prepares to Enter the Metaverse

Understanding the metaverse and anything else linked to it, such as NFTs, has been a hot topic of discussion across the globe over the recent months. Prominent brands have now begun to bring their products into Web3, like adidas' partnership with renowned NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club, Nike's acquirement of RTFKT, and far more. As for today's latest news, it appears that footwear giant New Balance has already started preparations to enter the virtual word.

On the 18th of January, Trademark attorney Josh Gerben tweeted what depicts an image of three trademark applications from the Boston-based brand: the first one being an approval to goods into the virtual social space, the second is to be able to use those items for retail purposes (also in the metaverse), and the last claim is to authorise the usage of the virtual goods for entertainment purposes digitally.
