CDG Play x Converse is a collaboration that's gone down in history. Fusing together the rustic, everyday nature of the Chuck 70 basketball sneaker, and the high-fashion approach from Rei Kawakubo's Japanese brand, you'd be hard-pressed finding someone who's even only vaguely into sneakers not have a pair of these as part of their collection.
In a new approach that takes on all the classic features we know and love on the CDG x Converse silhouette, the midsole on all iterations in the collection adopt a cherry-red rubber coating that reflects in a shiny manner and matches up to Filip Pągowski's heart motif on the lateral sidewall of the canvas upper. Depending on whether the sneaker's body is black or white depends on the colour of the stripe that cuts through the bright-red midsole. Despite the new take on the bottom of the sneaker, the durable toe cap remains in off-white colouring, matching to the laces.
Revealed to be releasing in both high and low-top designs in each colourway, you'll have a tough time deciding which colourway to go for! Dropping on 24th March on Converse UK, save the links below to have the best shot at copping when the time comes. In other news, these floral Converse are perfect for the spring months!
