It’s no secret that sneakerheads are feeling the pinch right now, and as the world cuts back on its spending, brands are getting creative and introducing more sustainable solutions for shifting products. Just this week, fans were quick to spot that Nike had started selling used sneakers online through its “Nike Refurbished” initiative, allowing savvy savers to pick up high-heat pairs for a fraction of the price.
Originally introduced back in 2021 as part of the Swoosh’s Move to Zero program, the “Nike Refurbished” initiative allows the brand to sell exchanged, returned and imperfect pairs for up to 50% off. Discounts are dictated by Nike’s three-level grading system, which ranges from ‘Like New’ to ‘Gently Worn’ to “Slightly Imperfect’, and each pair is cleaned up as much as possible by the brand’s dedicated team.
As it stands, the ‘Nike Refurbished’ program is only available in the US, with its site currently in Beta. And, as expected, products will always vary due to the nature of the sourcing process. Helping to balance the cost-of-living crisis with a much needed push for more sustainability within the scene, it’s definitely a fun way to hunt for a great deal on your favourite styles, so you can check out the site as it stands over at refurbished.nike.com.
Up next, these are the best bargains in the Nike sale.
