Well, we weren't expecting this at all. Earlier this month, Nike revealed that they weren't releasing any new sneakers this Air Max Day, but it looks like the Beaverton-based brand has a surprise up its sleeve! As if out of nowhere, the Swoosh has unveiled not one, but TWO high heat collaborations, and we are beyond hyped!
The first sneaker is made in collaboration with Heron Preston. Fusing two of their most iconic silhouettes together, including the classic Air Max 95 and the brand new Air Max 720, the hybrid shoe is painted in a vibrant orange with multiple black mini Swooshes serving as branding hits throughout. Down below, the AM720's chunky Airbag unit is present, manufactured from over 40% recycled waste.
The second sneaker, on the other hand, is made in partnership with Cynthia Lu's Cactus Plant Flea Market. Reworking the Air VaporMax 2019, the shoe draws inspiration from Nike's “Just Do It” slogan. With a charcoal-hued base, the standout design element comes in the form of a bright turquoise Swoosh. Down below, a full length Air unit is present, painted in various tones for an eye-catching look.
If you're planning to cop either one of these ultra high heat sneakers, listen up. The Heron Preston x Nike Air Max 720/95 is set to release on April 15th, and will also be available for customisation. The Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Air VaporMax 2019 will hit shelves on May 14th, dropping exclusively at Dover Street Market stores worldwide. Let us know which pair you'll be copping, and while you're here, take a look at the full Nike sneaker range!
