Following the release of the auto-lacing Adapt BBs during February's NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike CEO Mark Parker has just confirmed that the innovative technology will be coming to a lot more Swoosh silhouettes very, very soon!
Unveiled during Nike's 2019 Q3 earnings call, he explained, “Building off the successful adaptive basketball launch this quarter, we'll expand the platform into new categories and embed the Adapt technology even further into our digital eco-system.” This means that the tech could be show up on sneakers for tennis, running, and skateboarding, as well as a whole bunch of lifestyle-focused silhouettes!
While we're pretty far away from hoverboards and flying cars, self-lacing sneakers are just around the corner. At this moment in time, pretty much nothing else is known, so be sure to keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops! Should Nike develop brand new silhouettes to use this tech? Or should they implement it into current ones, such as the iconic Air Force 1 and the brand new Air Max 720? Let us know what you think, and be sure to take a look at the full Nike sneaker range!
