Nike is paying tribute to China's space program this season with the aptly titled 'Space Capsule Collection'. Celebrating twenty years since the launch of the Shenzhou 1, the first unmanned launch into space, it was only through this breakthrough that the Red Dragon were able to send their first man into the cosmos in 2003. Comprising of a total of five sneakers, the pack is truly out of this world!
The first shoe to feature in the collection is the Air Max 720, which is available in unisex sizes. Featuring a black engineered mesh upper, a striking fire graphic hits the toe box to represent a rocket blasting off into deep space. The second pair is the P-6000 that's actually available in two colourways inspired by space suits.
The final sneaker is the Air Max Tailwind 4 that follows the same other-worldly aesthetic. All five trainers make use of technical branding as well as silver foil accents and insoles that are made with spacesuit insulation.
If you're a big fan of the Nike 'Space Capsule Collection', it's set to launch exclusively in China on August 24th, with a wider release at select retailers and SNKRS China on September 1st. At this moment in time, a European drop doesn't seem to be on the cards, but you'll hear it here first as soon as it does!
