Nike Is Changing The Game With 'The 1 Reimagined' For Women

Nike is getting the feminist swoosh of approval by making a powerful statement in the creation of 'The 1 Reimagined.'

The sportswear giant is shifting the focus in the sneaker market and working on a reinvention of their most classic styles, exclusively for women.

The iconic silhouettes of the Nike Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan 1 have now become a blank canvas of inspiration for 14 female designers with the aim to pioneer 10 new styles for a female specific audience.

Both shoes were originally conceptualised by men, with male athletic wearers in mind, which makes 'The 1 Reimagined' collection truly revolutionary.

The design collective became influenced by five extraordinary feminine personas; the Explorer, Lover, Sage, Rebel and Jester, giving each aesthetic an individual personality.

And with that, 'The 1 Reimagined' was born, featuring one-of-a-kind silhouettes including the tallest stack height ever created on an Air Force 1, the first AF1 Mule, and unique back-to-front corset lacing.

Juxtaposing the futuristic design represented by the range, the shoes are tonally muted, producing striking results for 'The 1 Reimagined.'

Nike's retro 80s kicks are getting a modern millennial reboot, bound to change the sneaker game for women for the years ahead.
