The Jordan brand and Brasil link-up shook the internet last week and rightly so. Not only is it rare to see two titans of culture coming together, but when it also makes total sense, that’s like gold dust.
According to Sarah Mensah, president of Jordan brand, the partnership has been years in the making. Regardless of how long those talks have been going on, it’s perfect timing by Jordan - you only have to scroll through Instagram to see someone recommending a one way flight to Rio – Brasil’s cultural cool has never been stronger.
Naturally, we had to get the Joga Sinistro (Play Deadly) collection in and show you just how clean the pieces are. First off is the Anthem jacket and Draft trousers for that off-pitch look, kitted out in a dark blue hue, this combo is probably getting the most amount of wear considering we’re based in Costa Del London.
A boxier fit up top matches the baggier silhouette below, with the yellow and black panelling adding just the right amount of pop that we’re after. The yellow embroidered Jumpman looks right at home alongside the Brasil FC crest, with the spellout logo on the back being another example of just how suited this match up really is. The Jumpman logo replacing the “a” in Brasil, come on now, need we say anymore.
The most main character piece in the collection is this long sleeve Goalie Jersey. Not only does it arrive with a golden sheen, but the 23 on the front and back adds that unmistakable Jordan touch. Cuff detailing, techy panelling and mesh sleeves are the extra sprinkles of detailing we need. If you’re trying to be that guy this festival season, then this number has got to be in your toolkit.

An Away kit and Goalkeeper training kit are two other editions we’d recommend for festival season. That said, if you’re trying to get in shape before the circuit starts, then these two would make for solid gym gear. There’s nothing like getting a full stack on the cable machine while you manifest a trip to next year’s Carnival. While you’re at it, you may as well hop on a training plan to learn how to Samba, that sort of hip movement can’t be taught overnight.

Oh, and if you’re keen for more Jordan x Brasil goodness, you might want to keep your eye on this Air Jordan 3 “Brasil” that is supposed to release in time for the World Cup. So far, the shoe has only been spotted on the feet of Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, but best believe we’ll be keeping a track of this AJ3.
