Whatever you think of the Huarache, it'll always be one of Nike's most iconic silhouettes ever. First unveiled almost three decades ago back in 1991, it completely transformed the landscape of sneakers back in the day, and it looks like the Beaverton-based brand are planning to replicate this game-changing formula once again with the brand new Adapt Huarache!
Based off the '90s cult classic, the Adapt Huarache takes the retro design but gives it a futuristic makeover that's familiar yet different. While it doesn't feature the neoprene bootie that the OG is known for, it makes up for this with FitAdapt - an innovative new technology that updates and evolves along with the wearer.
The shoe also makes use of the Swoosh's FitAdapt lacing system that's run by a midfoot motor and controlled through a smartphone or smartwatch app. This not only allows sneakerheads to tighten or loosen their laces on the go, but it also allows users with motor impairments to tie their own shoe laces with no help, bringing with it a sense of independence and convenience.
Serving as the next chapter in the Huarache's story, the Nike Adapt Huarache is set to drop on September 13th, and will be available in a number of colourways. Will you be grabbing a pair?
