Nike Pays Tribute To Kobe Bryant With A Moving Memorial Video

Held at the world-famous Staples Centre and attended by over 20,000 fans, Kobe Bryant’s memorial service yesterday saw colleagues and friends alike lining up to pay tribute to the late basketball hero, who tragically lost his life along with his daughter, Gigi Bryant, and Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, Christina Mauser, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli and Ara Zobayan on the 26th January.

To pay tribute to the late Lakers’ player, Nike released a two-minute video that highlights the legacy that Bryant is leaving behind. Anchoring the word “Forever”, the video looks back at Kobe’s life and introduces phrases like “5am Drills Forever” and “Teammate Forever”, cementing his status as a historic icon and sorely missed friend.

Also paying tribute at the memorial was Beyoncé who sung “XO” (one of Kobe’s favourite songs) and a moving rendition of “Halo.” Followed by tearful speeches from Jimmy Kimmel, Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant, teammate Shaq and fellow basketball legend Michael Jordan, Alicia Keys rounded things off with an emotional piano solo.
