We're just over a week away from the start of the Tokyo Olympics, and to celebrate Nike has announced a selection of upcoming high-profile collabs. The Oregon born brand is set to link up with three titans of the Japanese fashion world in sacai, UNDERCOVER and AMBUSH, as well as Italian label Off-White. Each party has the joint mission of unifying people through sports and seeks to do so through the collection.
Virgil Abloh, Chitose Abe, Jun Takahashi and Yoon Ahn have collectively used their knowledge to produce a selection of sport-focused apparel which is both stylish and functional.
Virgil Abloh's Off-White has produced a selection of apparel, including T-Shirts, ladies crop tops, utility pants and compression shorts. sacai's Chitose Abe has lead the athleisure front with bomber jackets, windbreakers and cropped tank tops. AMBUSH's Yoon Ahn seeks to give the collaboration a futuristic feel with colourful motorbike styled pants and jackets. Finally, UNDERCOVER's Jun Takahashi celebrates Japan's street basketball roots with a selection of "UBA" signature goods.
The collaborations are set to arrive in a staggered manner with Nike x Off-White launching the day of the Olympics (July 23rd), Nike x UNDERCOVER on July 28th, Nike x AMBUSH on July 30th and finally Nike x sacai on August 4th.
