After the tragic occurrences at the recent Astroworld Festival where 10 people were killed and many more left injured, it appears that Nike has chosen to postpone the release of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 “Cactus Jack Wheat” that was due to launch imminently. The sneakers were set to be the first time the Houston-based rapper had worked on the Air Max 1, a silhouette that’s currently undergoing a surge in popularity.
Showcasing signature details from the rapper such as reversed Swoosh and a neutral-hued colour palette, the pair was recently loaded up onto the Nike SNKRS app in preparation for a launch soon. In an announcement released last night, Nike stated “Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack.” As of yet it’s unclear if and when the pair will receive a release date, so keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for more as it unfolds. In the meantime check out the rest of our site for stories such as the long-awaited return of the Nike Air Huarache LE “Praline”.
