We're just under 3 weeks removed from the beginning of the Tokyo Olympic Games and for the first time ever skateboarding is being featured as an Olympic event! To mark this momentous occasion, Nike's sub-label Nike SB has teamed up with Dutch artist and skateboarder Piet Parra to produce a selection of federation kits for the USA, Brazil, Japan and France.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese art, each of these kits comes equipped with a Pantone colour scheme inspired by the flag colours of their respective country. The USA kit comes equipped with a V-neck collar, a white background and red, blue, aqua and orange tones. The Japan offering features a crew neck collar and is accented by blue, orange, pink and red tones all sat atop a white backdrop. Brazil's signature offering features a variety of green, blue and yellow tones. Finally, the France kit features different blue, red and orange tones with an Eiffel tower motif.
In the images, we see familiar Nike SB riders such as Nyjah Huston, Leticia Bufoni, Yuto Horigome and Paul Rodriguez all donning the jerseys and performing an array of tricks. The kits are expected to drop around the start of the Olympics and we're predicting these are going to be highly sought after! In other news, football and fashion are colliding and here's what it means for the industry.
