Joseph McDermott founded Victory Lap Radio in 2019 to solve an immediate problem: the lack of raw, uncurated airtime for untested UK talent. While established grime figures occasionally step into the broadcast booth, the station primarily operates as an incubator for the next generation of British MCs. The platform revived the high-energy spirit of noughties pirate sets, creating a space where underground spitters stand shoulder to shoulder with rap icons.
That reputation for breaking fresh voices caught the eye of cultural trendsetters like Corteiz. For the high profile Air Max 95 "Honey Black" rollout, Clint419 teamed up with the station for the chaotic Victory Lap x RTW 2 live cypher. The set put emerging underground lyrical talent like Kibo directly in the spotlight alongside established heavyweights including Skepta, JME, and Novelist. Following sonic partnerships with independent labels Apron Records and PAN Records, Nike now hands the design reins of the Air Force 1 to the broadcasting hub.
The Air Force 1 Low leads the project with high shine patent leather wrapped across the mudguard, eyestays, and rear quarter. Glossy forest tones meet a smooth "Grey Fog" leather base on the toe box and side panels, while crisp white leather constructs the profile Swoosh to balance the matching midsole.
Pops of "Light Crimson" punctuate the tongue label and heel detailing. Bespoke emblems appear on the lateral heel, insoles, and custom packaging, featuring an illustrated cartoon mascot clutching a Swoosh. A semi translucent rubber outsole completes the design, revealing a crimson Victory Lap motif stamped underneath the tread.
The companion Air Force 1 Mid opts for an unapologetic, monochrome street aesthetic with direct links to London style codes. An all black upper combines matte leather underlays with patent leather panels across the ankle strap and structural overlays.
Subtle "Light Crimson" accents outline the branding hits on the tongue and mid cut strap, keeping the execution clean while maintaining continuity across the duo.
Official drop dates remain under wraps, but expect both pairs to arrive in unisex sizing during the Holiday 2026 season. Keep notifications turned on via Nike SNKRS for direct launch alerts.
