Patta has just linked up with Nike once again for the new Vapor 16 Elite Wave. 

The new football boot nods to the iconic Nike x Patta Air Max 1 Wave (the silhouette that first came out in 2021) which features Patta’s signature wave motif. The new Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite – which drops in two colourways, “Noise Aqua” and a chrome/black/white – prioritises performance and design innovation for the pitch, taking away any excess weight to bring a highly responsive, smooth and fast-paced experience. It features Nike’s Gripknit technology (directly embedded into the upper) enhancing the experience so you almost like you’re barefoot. This ensures consistent control and a secure fit. The shoe also features the Flyknit upper, made from a lightweight material contouring the foot for ultimate flexibility and an Air Zoom traction plate, engineered for peak energy return.

Patta is an Amsterdam-based brand, co-founded by Edson Sabajo and Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt. As a black-owned label Patta has always advocated for black empowerment, giving us black excellence through its collections and campaigns. And this Nike linkup isn’t any different – inspired by football’s ability to unite people regardless of background and border. 

Patta and Nike are working on releasing their upcoming Netherlands pieces and kit as well, which were teased on Virgil van Dijk’s Fantastic Man cover (pictured above), as we gear up for the World Cup. Patta is also expected to drop a Nike Cryoshot collaboration, but details are yet to come.

The Nike x Patta Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite Wave is set to drop May 5th.
