Having caused quite a stir when they first released (namely for looking a little like the Yeezy version), Nike’s Calm Slide appears to have evolved into a brand-new form. This time, the Swoosh appears to be jumping on another summer footwear trend, adding a backstrap and closed toe to the model to create the (unofficially named) Nike Calm Mule, which is sure to be a hit ahead of the transitional seasons.
Using the slide’s shape and sole as a base, the Calm Mule features moulded foam uppers, medial side cut-outs and a removable backstrap that instantly allows you to switch between a more relaxed fit, and ‘sport mode’. Keeping things relatively minimal, Nike branding appears in the form of a debossed Swoosh at the forefoot, and a wordmark logo at the backstrap. The Calm Mule is expected to drop in four colourways, with “Hemp“, “Black”, “Olive” and “Grey” versions all having surfaced so far.
Right now, we’re still waiting on more info to surface, but we’re hoping the Nike Calm Mules will drop in time for us to step into autumn in style. While we wait to hear more, don’t forget to set your release reminders for the upcoming pairs below, and in the meantime check out Crocs' collab with Palace.
