As the gap between football and fashion continues to close, Nike (with the help of Kylian Mbappé) has now debuted the Nike Mercurial Superfly 9 FG "Voltage Purple," a football boot inspired by none other than the revered Nike TN Air Max Plus. Pairing street style with pitch-ready tech, this silhouette has got both the football and footwear worlds talking.
Taking to Instagram last night, the Paris Saint-Germain forward revealed this latest silhouette along with some training photos of the pair in action. Displaying them alongside the OG model, it's clear to see which components have been used on this new model.

“Voltage Purple” hues decorate the upper, complete with that gradient finish we're so used to the TN having. This is backed up by tints of “Total Orange” found at the Swoosh and insole. The palm tree-inspired TPU cage retains its place on this model, while the usual whale tail-shaped shank has been replaced with a number of pitch-ready studs underfoot. Finally, a sock-like ankle collar and 3M reflective details round out this pair.
Arriving complete with an accessory bag and unique packaging, this pair will no doubt be a must-cop for all the ballers among us. Up next, the Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack appears in a "Sail" hue.
