After we first reported back on the rumour back in June, it seems that a Nike Air Force 1 “Raygun” will finally be launching soon, as official images have just been unveiled by Nike! While the rumours were a black pair would release, it’s now apparent that the AF1’s will be decked out in a classic white colorway.
Inspired by the legendary 2005 SB Dunks that recently saw a re-release, the Roswell Rayguns are an imaginary basketball team created by Nike for an early 2000s advertising campaign.
The pair look set to be crafted from tumbled leather across the uppers for a premium look throughout, with hits or orange and yellow (Raygun signature colours) appearing in smooth satin. Nike’s Swoosh logo is present on either side in black with a striking yellow outline, while an alien face basketball logo is embroidered onto the lateral heel.
Underfoot, the AF1s signature chunky midsole is present as ever, concealing a full-length Nike Air unit to ensure that these are suitably comfortable all year round. If you missed out on the Dunk re-release late last year, these are shockingly good alternatives!
As it stands right now, there’s no official release date for the Nike Air Force 1 “Raygun”. We’d expect it will arrive at some point into next year.
