Although the Yeezy 450 took some time to find its feet amongst fans, all signs point to a big year for the silhouette this time around. The 450 is the latest style to sport a couple of new colourways, with the newest being the Yeezy 450 “Gradient.” Hot off the back of the recently revealed “Sulfur” iteration, this new Yeezy comes with a twist, so let’s take a closer look.
Done up in shades of earthy brown, the Yeezy 450 “Gradient” is the first 450 to feature a gradient effect across the jagged midsole, gradually going from a chocolate brown at the toe to a darker shade at the heel. On top, the sock-like Primeknit upper takes on an all-over light brown shade. Printed on the insole of the “Gradient” Yeezy 450s is both the Yeezy logo, and the adidas Globe logo, which suggests the pair is made from sustainable materials. Underfoot, the characteristic 450 midsole replaces the Boost technology we’re used to seeing on other Yeezy styles, swapping it out for EVA foam that remains just as comfy.
Right now, the adidas Yeezy 450 “Gradient” looks to be in its early stages, with only a couple of mock-ups and early images doing the rounds. They are rumoured for a Spring 2022 release though, so be sure to stay tuned for more info and images as they come in.
Up next, Ye has announced his next venture with Gap and Balenciaga.
