Pharrell Williams is a Footie Fan Now

Last Friday, Pharrell Williams headed to a British pub to watch a less-than-thrilling 0-0 draw between England and the USA. Well, kind of. While the match was hardly an event in itself, the rapper’s visit saw him bring quite the party, as the visit doubled up as an opportunity to celebrate the brand-new capsule collection from Humanrace and adidas Originals - which was heavily inspired by the 3-Stripes’ football history.

The capsule’s teamsheet is undeniably strong, but its key players have to be the Sambas, which lend themselves perfectly to the football theme. For this collection, the sporty style has been reimagined with premium detailing: the finest quality leather and suede make up the base, and a moulded leather tongue and zig-zag stitching call back to the silhouette’s early days on the pitch.

Supporting the Sambas, the clothing collection focuses on giving retro styles an elevated touch. Here, a timeless colour palette and puff print details add extra points of interest. Included in the capsule are a classic rip-stop (a pitch warm-up staple) and a pair of woven shorts that appear minimalist enough for everyday wear. Two jerseys bring the collection to a close: one long sleeve and one short sleeve. Both arrive in three colours to coordinate with the rest of the range.
