The great Pablo Picasso once said, “Good artists copy, great artists steal”, and it looks like Prada have taken this quote a little too literally.
Unveiled earlier today, the Italian fashion house's new sneaker has been teased in two monochromatic colourways, and sneakerheads everywhere couldn't help but to make comparisons between it and the adidas Originals NMD line-up, and to be honest, we really can't blame them.
Featuring a Primeknit-esque upper, the unnamed shoe makes use of a sock like design, similar to that of the NMD CS1. Underneath, a Trail outsole is present, as well as a bunch of EVA plugs around the heel portion of the sneaker. If you're still not convinced, just take a look at the heel tab which looks like it was taken straight from the NMD R1.
As if those similarities weren't enough, this Prada shoe is adorned with "PRADA"; text running down the forefoot of both sneakers, reminiscent of the Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD Hu.
Available from the Prada pop-up store at Isetan Shinjuku from September 26th to October 2nd, this mysterious Prada sneaker will set you back an eye watering £600. For that price you can probably buy two pairs of Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals NMD Hu with plenty of change to spare. Let us know what you think of the sneaker in the comments section below!
