Raf Simons Combines Two Iconic adidas Silhouettes For The ‘Trompe L’oeil’ Collection

Raf Simons x adidas is back for a collaboration like no other. First unveiled back in January during his Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019 showcase, the 'Trompe L'oeil' Pack reworks the Stan Smith model as three other famous adidas archive silhouettes, namely the Micropacer, the L.A. Trainer, and the Torsion Conquest Super.

The term "Trompe L'oeil"; is actually French for “deceive the eye”, making it the perfect name for this hybrid collection. Giving the illusion that the Stan Smith is one of the three vintage models, the Belgian fashion designer's name is embossed on the heel, while Stan Smith branding graces the back. Each silhouette's name is printed onto the lateral sides, while faux detailing, such as the Micropacer's pedometer, the L.A. Trainer's mesh toebox, and the Torsion Conquest Super's perforated design also appear, mimicking the originals.

The Raf Simons x adidas Stan Smith 'Trompe L'oeil' collection is set to launch on April 12th, with an accompanying adilette slider dropping on May 17th.
