Images of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection were unveiled in Paris last year at the Menswear Spring 2022 runway show and it’s safe to say, it was one of the most-talked-about collabs of 2021. Virgil Abloh once again elevated the game with this yet-to-be-released collection, featuring 21 pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Off-White x Nike Air Force 1. The coveted collection was rumoured to release at the end of last year, but has respectfully been held back until early this year.
If Virgil’s previous work with the Swoosh brand is anything to go by, there’s no doubt that these upcoming designs will be up there with a selection of the most sought-after sneakers in the world, dressing the most iconic Nike silhouette in the luxurious Louis V branding. The line features a selection of colourways, from bold hues to more minimal, cleaner colour schemes. A combination of low and mid-tops are included in the collection, adding something extra to this line and to Abloh’s previous collabs, notably “The 50” which also dropped last year.
The LV monogram can be seen across the line, with the repeat pattern debossed across the upper of the triple white Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1. Notable details include the signature Off-White branding with “LACES” printed onto each lace and “AIR” appearing across the midsole. A mixture of fabrics have also been used across the collection, ranging from patent leather standing out in metallic blue, to yellow and red mesh and a more muted white leather. Colour-blocking decorates a number of the silhouettes, with a brown-hued pair dressed in the signature LV tiled branding.
There’s no denying that this is one the most-hyped collaborations in histroy, with 21 pairs included in the collection, sneaker, and streetwear fans certainly have something to look forward to in the coming months.
