With Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 "Pine Green" making nothing but headlines at the moment and the SB Dunk revival of 2022 still riding high, it's fair to say Nike's skateboarding division is truly at the top of its game. With all this momentum in mind, rumours have now surfaced of a collaboration between Nike SB and workwear-come-streetwear giant Carhartt.
It's not the first time Carhartt and Nike SB have been linked, as the duo were rumoured to be launching something with Eminem last October, however, that was quickly dispelled by the rapper's management. Also, older heads might remember Carhartt and Nike SB collaborating back in 2004 for a unique rendition of the SB Dunk. Now, these latest rumours point towards both a sneaker and apparel collection that is set to launch later this year. It's fair to assume this collaboration will fall under the Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) streetwear banner instead of its mainline workwear counterpart, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Also yet to be revealed is what exactly this collaboration will contain from a product perspective. Previously, we've seen Carhartt and Nike utilise the Air Force 1 and Air Max 95 silhouettes for collaborations, but given the fact its a Nike SB launch, we don't think it would be farfetched to say a new SB Dunk rendition could be next on the cards. As for the clothing, we imagine Nike might lean upon Carhartt's selection of icon silhouettes, such as the Detroit Jacket, Chore Coat, and Work Pants.
