British fashion designer, Samuel Ross, is one of the reputable partners of Converse. Through the years, the American shoe company teamed up with Ross' A-COLD-WALL* label to give some of its iconic silhouettes a new identity. Recently, images of two upcoming Converse Chuck 70 High have emerged online — courtesy of Hiroshi Fujiwara, who received his early pairs.
The A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 High capsule contains two contrasting palettes of the modernised Chuck Taylor All Star — one in an off-white shade and the other in a stealthy grey hue, both with counterparts in opposing colours.
Samuel Ross injects his label's branding via a large logo box on the lateral wall, discarding Converse's circular All-Star badge. This is also accompanied by "ACW" and a series of numbers seen through the translucent rubber midsole tooling that matches the toe caps perfectly. While we wait for the official images, we do not doubt that a special shoebox will accompany the launch.
Rumour has it that the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 High collab is gearing up for a release in the coming months.
