Saucony is handing over the reins to one of its most popular running shoes, inviting Paris-based designer Stan Birch to put his own spin on the ProGrid Guide 7.
£140.00
Having earned major props across the streetwear world with his mix-and-match approach to sneaker customisation under the moniker of Flou Customs, Birch's link-up with Saucony actually marks his first official footwear collaboration... fitting then, that it comes via one of the global brands of the moment.
First unveiled at Saucony’s Paris Fashion Week showroom in June, the shoe invites wearers to chop, change and customise via interchangeable Velcro logo patches and alternate lace options.
Birch’s ‘Stand Out’ mantra is truly stamped throughout (it’s literally typed out along the outer heel for good measure), and the layered build of the retro ProGrid lends itself perfectly to his signature 'split' style and approach to wearable art.
The Neapolitan-esque palette brings in a cacophony of green, pink and cream pastel hues across a mesh-dominated upper, punctuated by lashings of leather and suede overlays.
"The beauty of this collaboration is in the details," said Jason Faustino, senior director of global energy at Saucony.
"From the premium material mix and metallic gold accents to the interchangeable logos and lace options, Stan brought a unique perspective to the ProGrid Guide 7 that celebrates individuality and invites consumers to stand out."
The Saucony x Stan Birch ProGrid Guide 7 launches on September 11th. Get those notifications on and make sure you don't miss out.
