There's no doubt that sustainability and ethical practices are at the forefront of brands and shoppers minds at the moment. With the fashion industry said to be one of the most polluting industries, people want alternatives to harmful fast fashion cycles which are damaging our earth.
Nike has been making moves to become more sustainable in its practices: Nike Grind materials are already used in 71% of Nike's footwear and apparel products, with three quarters of Nike Products containing some recycled material. With sustainability top of the agenda, it's not surprising that Nike has announced the release of a Sustainability collection.
The Sustainability Collection comes in 3 parts:
The Nike Plant Colour Collection – an assortment of pastel-coloured hues paint the canvas uppers of the Nike Air Max 95 and the Nike Blazer Low
The Nike Flyleather Earth Day Pack – Nike uses its most sustainable material, Flyleather, which is made from at least 50% recycled natural leather. Featuring the Nike Air Force 1, the Nike Cortez, and a Nike Blazer Low
The Nike Air VaporMax 2 Random – Flyknit was one of the OG innovations for sustainability, as the precisely engineered textile brings maximum performance and produces 60% less waste fo these VaporMax silhouettes.
