After unveiling the Jordan Brand "Crater" Collection earlier today, another Nike brand is now joining the sustainable train with the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star "Crater". Yet another step towards the Swoosh's Move to Zero, this environmentally focused line-up pays homage to the "Space Hippie" Collection that launched last month.
Completely reworking the century-old silhouette from heel to toe, the "Crater" required the input and feedback of over 100 Converse employees. Available in three clean cut colourways, the silhouette retains the signature high top look and toe cap, but everything else has been completely transformed.
For instance, the upper is crafted from a new material called Morphlon which infuses recycled polyester with post-industrial textile waste scraps for a canvas-like feel. The midsole has also been reworked. Gone is traditional vulcanised rubber and in its place is Crater foam that's crafted from rubber scraps scavenged during the manufacturing process.
Made from over 40% recycled materials, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star "Crater" is one of the most eco-friendly models yet. Set to drop on July 23rd, make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops! While you're here, here are 25 unmissable bargains for as low as £25 at Converse UK!
