Launched all the way back in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 was Michael Jordan’s first-ever signature sneaker. You’d think that with it being nearly 40 years old, the silhouette might have fallen out of style by now, however the reality is quite the opposite. The AJ1 is easily one of the most popular sneakers on the market right now, and it can be spotted on the feet of sneakerheads, influencers and celebrities alike. From hyped collaborations right through to OG colourway re-releases, there’s been plenty of solid offerings over the years, and the 2023 lineup looks like one of the best yet.
Here at The Sole Supplier we’ve compiled all of the upcoming AJ1 releases into this comprehensive list, meaning you can start looking forward to what’s on the way. Check out the full selection below and be sure to let us know what you’ll be going after via our social channels!
First up on our list is none other than the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Reverse Laney”. Riffing off of 2013’s “Laney ” pair, these kicks draw inspiration from North Carolina’s Laney High School, the school MJ attended back in the day. Decked out in hues of “Varsity Blue” and “Maize”, if you’re looking for a pair that will stick out from the crowd then these might be as good as it gets. Set to hit retailers on the 24th February, will you be looking to grab these?
The AJ3 is another hugely-popular Jordan silhouette, and it’s known for its signature elephant print design, created by Tinker Hatfield. Now applied to the Air Jordan 1 High OG for the first time ever, these kicks offer a familiar feel and a pared-back colourway that’s easy to style into a number outfits. Arriving on the 24th February, are these a cop or a drop?
On the topic of pared-back offerings, Jordan Brand is really coming through with the goods this year, as we also have the eagerly-anticipated Air Jordan 1 High “Washed Black” to look forward to. Crafted from supple suede, the pair shows off OG colour-blocking combined with a red Nike Air logo on the tongues for a classic look and feel. Rumoured to drop in June, be sure to set reminders if you’re looking to grab these.
Scheduled for the latter part of the year (reportedly September), the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Praline” offers up an autumnal look that sits perfectly on the familiar silhouette. Details come in the form of leather Swoosh logos on either side, wings branding on the collars and Nike Air on the tongues. Keep it locked in right here for more details on this pair as they unfold, as we’ll be the first to let you know.
After a brief hiatus, Travis Scott is set to continue his collaborative onslaught with Jordan Brand, tackling another colourway of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG. This time around it’s decked out in olive and beige hues, with the Houston-based rapper’s signature reverse Swoosh making another appearance. Rumoured to launch later on this year in limited quantities, these are guaranteed to be a popular pair.
Originally launched in 2016 via an exclusive NYC pop-up store and limited to just 501 pairs, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Satin Bred” is one of the most desirable AJ1s of all time, and now it’s rumoured to be receiving a wider release. Swapping out leather or suede for soft satin, we’re loving the way the classic “Bred” colourway looks on this pair. As it stands there’s no further release details available, but keep it locked right here for more.
Inspired by one of the Chicago Bulls’ greatest rivals (the Boston Celtics), the AJ1 High OG “Celtics” offers up a clean colourway that any serious Jordan head is going to be chasing after. Combining “Lucky Green” with shades of black and white, the kicks are crafted from full leather and boast all the details you’d expect from a release of this calibre. Sources claim that this pair will arrive in April, although nothing has been officially confirmed just yet.
Another full suede offering is set to launch this year in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High “Washed Pink”. Offering a similar look to the aforementioned black pair, the kicks come complete with an off-white hued midsole that rounds off the design perfectly. Also set for an April release, we can see these selling out ASAP, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled if you’re chasing them.
Last but by no means least, nothing says future classic like a UNC-themed colourway. Decked out in the University of North Carolina’s classic white and blue colour scheme, this pair comes complete with black Swooshes and accents, staying true to the OG colour blocking theme. Could this be the best AJ1 of the year? You’ll have to wait a little longer to find out yet, as more details are expected to emerge before the rumoured July release date.
