Just last night, we saw two new iterations of the Stone Island x New Balance RC Elite emerge, and this latest collection would suggest the Italian fashion imprint isn't slowing down any time soon. Now for Milan Design Week, Stone Island is set to release the sixth iteration of its Prototype Research_Series.
For the unaware, Stone Island's Prototype Research_Series started back in 2016 with the goal to produce unique garments utilising experimental treatments and production techniques. Each release is limited to 100 unique pieces, championing artistry and craft at their core.
This latest piece sees Stone Island team up with Kevlar's consumer research and development team to produce a unique jacket. The exterior of the garment is made from fine Kevlar yarn, a fabric which boasts durability as well as thermal stability. To produce its unique appearance, each jacket has gone through a dévoré printing technique to break down the Kevlar fibres and showcase the fabric's inner yellow hue.
The jacket is currently on show at Milan Design Week, and each unit will be available to purchase at some point in the future. In other fashion news, here's a detailed look at Palace's latest summer instalment.
