When Shawn Stüssy founded his brand in the early ‘80s, he didn’t know that he’d be changing street style forever. The godfather of streetwear started Stüssy out of his car, selling T-shirts, shorts and caps to surfers in Laguna Beach, CA – something that the brand still holds on to today, always referencing Shawn’s early days with its collections. 

Stüssy’s SS26 takes us back to Laguna Beach in the ‘80s with some snakeskin and more animal prints, but also an array of the chillest understated pieces, modelled by the Stüssy community (like skater Hugo Boserup and artist Jan Gatewood) in this new campaign.

This may not be the first time that Stüssy has played with snake print (who remembers that snake-print Converse Chuck Taylor collab?) – Stüssy does love an animal print, after all – but this jacket blew our minds. A nostalgic nod to the ‘80s, when animal prints and maximalism were king, but with a sleeker, more slim-fitting ‘90s silhouette, this jacket is the main character of this collection, and at the top of our wish list. 

We have to thank the streetwear gods and the hypebeasts that paved the way and we can now wear Stüssy to the office. Whether you wear it at the skate park, the beach or your business casual office, this shirt is definitely entering the rotation and is staying there for a long time.

Stüssy never misses when it comes to denim jackets, and this drop is no different. The cuts are clean and the hues of the denim in this collection are too good – obsessed with the crispness of the white, the subtlety of the pastel blue, and that fade on the black.

Stüssy is always down for a Nirvana, grunge moment – circling it back to the ‘90s and celebrating its cult status in skater subcultures. These flannel shorts are a burst of nostalgia. We all need a casual pair of surf shorts in our wardrobe lineup, and this black and faded-white colourway means that it probably pairs well with almost anything.
