Another day, another SB Dunk - and we're not complaining. 2021 has been immense for the basketball-turned-skate silhouette, and as we reach the end of the year we're taking a sneak peek at the upcoming Nike SB Dunk High "Medium Grey", and we can already tell that it's going to be pretty popular this winter.
For some reason the "Medium Grey" reminds us of the legendary SB Dunk Low "NYC Pigeon" but we can't really put our finger on why. Working on top of a premium off-white leather base, this is contrasted by buttery smooth suede panels that wrap around the toebox, heel, and lacing system in a "Medium Grey" hue. A white tumbled leather Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels, while black laces tie everything together.
While Nike could've left this colourway pretty understated, they've injected some vibrant pops of colour throughout. For instance, the tongue tag and pull tab have been dipped in neon pink, while bold blue appears on the underside of the shoe. If you take an even closer look at the midsole, you'll find that the stitching is actually light blue. We're not sure why the Beaverton brand decided to do this but we're feeling it.
A release date has yet to be officially announced for the Nike SB Dunk High "Medium Grey", but rumour has it that they'll launch sometime next month. Let us know what you think of this upcoming colourway, and in related news, the Pass~Port x Nike SB Dunk High combines skate shoes with work boots!
