We’ve seen a lot of Jordan releases this year, but for the most part, all the hype has been over the Jordan 1. We get it - it’s a classic, but when we saw the women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 11 "Animal Instinct" was dropping, we couldn’t help but be grateful for the breath of fresh air the change in silhouette was bringing. Set to drop very soon, the sneaker puts a wild twist on the AJ11, so let’s take a closer look at the images.
Although it's largely recognised as Michael Jordan’s favourite sneaker, the Air Jordan 11 is a bit of a black sheep in the Jordan line-up. Lacking the colour-blocking versatility of the Jordan 1, and the technical detailing of the Jordan 4 and 5, the Jordan 11 sometimes feels a little style-over-substance thanks to its shiny patent detailing. That being said, the Jordan 11’s popularity falls only behind that of the Jordan 1 and Jordan 3, and colourway after colourway still has the sell-out factor - and the "Black and White" J is sure to be a hit.
The "Animal Instinct" Jordan 11 sees the sneaker swap out its patent leather panels for a suede and faux fur construction, which instantly gives the shoe a premium feel. Dressed up in a monochromatic colourway, the fur animal print that runs across the overlays from heel to toe is left to do the talking.
Elsewhere, the "Animal Instinct" AJ11 remains understated with a blacked-out suede upper and lace unit, and an all-black embossed Jumpman logo to the lateral heel. A hint of red peeks out on the mesh heel tab, in the form of a stylised 23 logo. Underfoot, a clean white midsole gives way to a grey outsole to finish off the tonal colour scheme.
If you’re planning to hunt down the "Black and White" Nike Air Jordan 11 for your rotation, make sure to head over to Nike SNKRS and set your release reminders ready for when they drop on November 26th.
Next, we take a look at the hottest sneakers of 2021.
