Following on from the success of April’s "Washed Pink" release, Jordan Brand is set to fulfil all our wishes with its latest Air Jordan 1. Easily one of our most anticipated AJ1 releases this year, this two-tone pair packs in all the versatility you want from a black and white shoe, while still managing to escape those dreaded "Panda" connotations thanks to its washed finish. If you're looking to add the Air Jordan 1 High "Washed Black" to your collection, then here's everything you need to know ahead of the launch day on the 10th of June.
Swapping out smooth leather for soft and supple suede, the pair features an overall washed-out look that channels serious vintage vibes. Instead of a true or "Panda" black, the black suede overlays are actually greyer in appearance, with light grey collars adding to the faded look. Underfoot, the theme continues with a pre-yellowed midsole, a feature that was also seen (and enjoyed) on the pair’s pink counterpart. Setting them even further apart from Jordan releases prior, the "Washed Black" AJ1 even comes with a classic red Nike Air tongue label - a subtle touch of fan service.
The "Washed Black" Air Jordan 1 is set to come in adult's sizing. We usually recommend taking your true size in the Air Jordan 1, but if you need any extra help, then be sure to check out our Air Jordan 1 size guide.
Due to the limited nature of the shoe, most retailers are planning to release the Air Jordan 1 High "Washed Black" via a raffle system. This will ensure that the release is as fair as possible. To enter a raffle, head over to the shoe's product page here and click the 'Raffle' tab, and then simply click the retailer and follow the instructions. Most raffles are only open for a couple of days, so be sure to get your entry in quickly!
Though raffles are by far the most popular method for this release, it does look as if Offspring is planning a first-come-first-served drop. Right now, its looking like the shoes will drop at midnight, so be sure to get a coffee down you if you're planning on staying up for it. The good news is that if you miss out, you'll still have raffle draws and a SNKRS launch to look forward to in the morning.
The "Washed Black" AJ1 will see a release on Nike SNKRS on the 10th of June. This usually takes place at 8am. By now, you probably already know how a SNKRS raffle works, but if you don’t, then make sure to download the Nike SNKRS app and create an account. From here, you can scroll through all of the upcoming drops and even set a release reminder if you want - but you can also set a reminder for the drop by clicking the purple buttons throughout this article.
At 8am on the day, you’ll have a short window of time to get your raffle entry in. Make sure you’ve set up your Nike account to include all your payment information to take out any extra stress. If your entry is successful, you’ll get the famous "Got ‘Em" screen!
If you're unlucky enough to miss out on a pair for retail, then don't panic. The "Washed Black" AJ1 High is sure to land on the secondary market very soon, so for a small mark-up you'll still be able to secure your size. And, if you pick up a pair from a platform like our very own Sole Market, you can be safe in the knowledge that you're buying from verified sellers, and that your purchase is subject to our own in-house legit check system.
So, there you have it. This guide will give you the best chance of copping the Air Jordan 1 High "Washed Black" - but remember that things can quickly change, and that more chances may come up! With that in mind, be sure to set your release reminders on our app and stay locked to The Sole Supplier's social channels on the drop day, as we'll be posting all the latest info as it comes in. Good luck!
