Her incredible 100-piece collection also decorates a sneaker stairway to heaven in her room and often stars alongside creative branded latte art on Instagram.

<u>Hey all! That's me:</u>

My name is Annika, but you can call me Anni. You might know my Instagram: @annikamths. I'm 23 years old and from Germany. I live in a region called Saarland in the southwest of Germany right next to France and Luxembourg. (It's the best place in Germany haha!) Saarland is one of the smallest regions, but the cool thing is: people act like a big family. The support is huge, no matter what you do! That's why I love it so much. I currently study North American Cultures at Saarland University and work at a local radio station.

<u>Sneaker culture in Germany:</u>

Our region is really small, that's why there are just a few sneakerheads, but this makes it really special to me. Unfortunately, we don't have any big sneaker stores, so I buy most of my stuff online or when I travel to bigger cities. It's hard to get limited stuff, but I'm not really into all of these hyped brands and sneakers. I buy what I like. Sneaker culture in Germany gets bigger and bigger, there are so many cool sneakerheads in Germany. I love to connect with different people, which is why I like Instagram so much. You can share your creativity and thoughts with others.

<u>How it started: </u>

It all started with the Air Max 90 Infrared. When I was 16, I saw a photo of a pair on Facebook, but I had no idea where to buy sneakers. Today, online shops are a huge thing but back then, I didn't know anything about it. The only thing I knew was eBay. I started looking for the Infrared but I couldn't find the colourway or my size. I ended up with a completely different colour; in purple, yellow and dark green. I actually bought the shoe two sizes too big because I had no clue, but I loved wearing these. Throughout the years, I recognised how many cool brands and styles exist, so I started buying more. I also love photography and editing. I had the idea of combining my two passions. Now I'm 23 years old, my collection consists of almost 100 pairs and I've probably taken thousands of sneaker pics.

<u>My sneaker room: </u>

I still keep my sneakers in my bedroom and store them in every corner. I have some shelves where I keep all of my older sneakers and I have stairs in my room. That's where I keep some of my favourite Nikes. I also have some shelves for my adidas Boosts and Yeezys, for my Jordans, and for my most colourful shoes. I usually buy them at Ikea or at Motherandson-Lab. When people ask me why I don't keep my sneakers in boxes, I only have the Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City answer: “I like my money where I can see it – hanging in my closet.” Same! Just with sneakers.

<u>My favourite sneakers:</u>

I love the look of the white colourway. The Boost is the most comfortable sneaker I own.

A must-have for me. I wear these with blue glitter laces.

Just look at the colours! Perfect shoe. Going to buy some more colourways this year.

The classic. No words needed.

<u>How I style my sneakers: </u>

Sometimes, I love shopping in the men's section. I like wearing oversized sweaters and jackets, they work really well with sneakers. But I always try to give them a bit of a girly look. I style them with my favourite gold jewellery. I like unique stuff, that's why I often shop in smaller boutiques. Sometimes I like to DIY my jackets, shirts, or handbags to make them look more special and I love my little jersey collection. I'll try to get some more NFL and soccer shirts this year. I think jerseys and sneakers is my all-time favourite style.
