Aimé Leon Dore founder and Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line, Teddy Santis is back with the fourth instalment of his work with the Boston-based brand. Having dropped some solid colourways over the previous seasons, it’s really no surprise that Season 4 is also packed with bangers, albeit a little more toned-down, and less winter-ready than one would expect from a FW drop.
Having gone from long-term collaborator to CD in just a few short years, there’s really no denying that Santis’ impact is one of the biggest factors in NB’s recent success, and his own ALD has also continued to go from strength to strength, practically defining ‘good taste’ for those engaged in the sneaker and streetwear realm. With a true knack for creating consistent and conceptual colour palettes, Santis has once again applied his touch to a slew of New Balance 99X models, with Season 4 spanning the 990v4, 990v6, and 998.
Amongst the highlights, we see the “Olive”-toned 990v4, which comes drenched in the titular hue and shades of sage green, and accented with tan-coloured touches. The same palette also lands on one of the 998s, dressing the dad shoe in earthy hues to give it a new lease of life for its anniversary year.
Though autumnal in theory, current images of the shoes show the light green suede to be more suited to springtime, which is probably where the 990v6 comes in. Enveloped in a rich burgundy hue, this pair certainly looks more suited to the upcoming season, but is once again completed with tanned accents in order to tie the collection together.
From here, a couple more colourways join the fold, including a couple of almost monochromatic leather make-ups, and two fall-ready “Brown/Green” 998s. As far as release dates go, Season 4 of the New Balance Made in USA collection is expected to start dropping from the 26th of October, so be sure to hit the ‘Notify me’ button below if you’re looking to get your hands on a pair.
Up next, New Balance's Stone Island collab is now available on Sole Market.
