Japanese streetwear essential A Bathing Ape has maintained a strong presence in the streetwear scene despite NIGO's departure in 2013—the recent London flagship store opening and stream of footwear collaborations perfectly prove this point. After joining forces with Boston footwear label New Balance for two camo-treated 2002Rs, BAPE is now putting its sub-label in the spotlight for a joint project on the New Balance 703. We've got a closer look at the AAPE x New Balance 703, and here's everything you need to know!
The New Balance 703 is a trail running silhouette that has been in the archives for many years, and though it returned to the shelves last year, it's still not as popular as other New Balance trainers on the market right now. But with that said, the NB703's chunky construction definitely has the approval of fashion-savvy sneakerheads.
The collaboration consists of three classic colourways: "Black", "Beige", and "Olive", with all pairs boasting the model's usual multilayered panels crafted from a mix of heavy-duty materials suitable for hiking—ballistic nylon tooling included, of course. No camouflage print is present on the exterior build but kept subtle via the insoles instead for a sleeker look, and an exaggerated midsole unit underneath along with AAPE branding motifs on the tongue and heel pull tabs round off the ensemble.
If you're a die-hard BAPE fan, we have no doubts that you've got your eyes dead set on copping the AAPE x New Balance 703. In that case, stay locked in right here for all the latest New Balance releases, as well as BAPE collaborations.
