After months of speculation, Erolson Hugh’s ACRONYM and Nike have unveiled their latest collaborative project that uses the Blazer as the flagship product. The duo have long since been collaborative partners and their capsules always garner significant hype, so we don’t expect this latest offering to be any different. Comprising of the ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low “Night Maroon” and the ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low “Black” as well as selected apparel pieces, we’ve got a closer look right here at The Sole Supplier.
Known for it’s technical outerwear pieces, ACRONYM has developed a cult following since it’s inception in 1994 and showcases it’s signature characteristics throughout this reimagined version of a classic silhouette. The sneakers themselves are crafted from premium suede and offer up iconic features like the Nike Swoosh logo on either side, however plenty of new additions are also present.
The main new attraction is the addition of removable TPU heel counters on each sneaker, transforming the silhouette from a retro icon into a futuristic and utilitarian staple. Elongated tongues present dual ACRONYM/Nike branding, while cut-out shapes across the uppers once again offer up a post-modern attitude. The pairs are both finished with rubber midsoles and outsoles concealing plenty of cushioning.
If you’re looking to get your hands on either of these Blazers as well as the accompanying apparel collection, then the good news is that the whole collection is due to release on the 9th February via the ACRONYM webstore, with a wider release set to be announced soon. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest news and updates in the sneaker world, and while you’re here check out the similarly futuristic Nike Air Force 1 “Carabiner”!
