Get ready for the Air Jordan 35 - the next generation of Jordan Brand sneakers. A culmination of technical innovation and premium materials, Nike's next basketball-focused trainer is as futuristic as they come, and here's absolutely everything that you need to know.
Officially unveiled today at the Air Jordan 35 Virtual Event, Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand and Ari Chambers from Bleacher Report took centre stage to reveal the silhouette. Alongside them, Tate Kuerbis, Sr. Footwear Designer and lead designer of the AJ35, and athletes Jayson Tatum, Kia Nurse, Rui Hachimura, and Guo Ailun were also there to showcase what's next for the Michael Jordan-helmed brand.
Arriving just in time to celebrate the Air Jordan 5's 30th anniversary, the Air Jordan 35 is a direct sequel to last year's AJ34. Boasting the same Eclipse Plate and Zoom Air, both of these technologies have been elevated for additional comfort as well as efficient energy return. Borrowing unique elements from the AJ5, including the tongue design and moulded foam pods, it's been combined with a wide range of insanely luxurious fabrics including leather and suede.
A completely reworked rubber outsole also makes its grand debut here. Featuring a herringbone traction pattern, it's perfect for multidirectional footwork, providing athletes with a superior first step and the ability to cut on the dime.
In terms of colourways, the "Centre of Gravity" will be the first one to release on October 17th as a nod to the OG AJ5. Afterwards, the the Rui Hachimura-inspired "Warrior" will drop on October 21st, followed by the "Fire Red" on November 11th. A fan-favourite has got to be the "Bayou Boys" which was designed specifically for Zion Williams and will drop on November 30th, and rounding off the first collection will be Guo Ailun's "Morpho" which will land on December 24th.
The Nike Air Jordan 35 has got to be one of the most exciting Jumpman silhouettes in a very long time. Set to completely shakeup the game, let us know which colourway you're feeling the most! In related news, the Jordan Brand Holiday 2020 Retro Collection has just been unveiled!
