If you thought the first CPFM Dunks were wild, wait until you see what the brand has in-store for 2022. After dropping a pair of blingy Swarovski-dressed colourways back in 2020, Cynthia Lu has now reunited with the Swoosh for yet another Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low, and we think this is officially the craziest sneaker of the year.
Unlike anything we've seen before, the creative label has gone all out for this collaboration. Done up in all sorts of weird and wacky textiles, the base of the Dunk is made from a series of quilted triangles, while fuzzy green suede wraps around the rest of the upper. Thick rope laces tie everything together, while the midsole looks like it's been covered in some sort of synthetic moss. We're not entirely sure what this material is but it's giving us a pretty organic aesthetic.
That's not all. A chunky white Nike Swoosh shoots across the lateral side of the left shoe, while the right one is void of any sort of branding other than a single Yin Yang graphic embroidered on the medials. Around the back you'll find a set of chunky pull tabs, and rounding off this insane collaboration is a rainbow-inspired insole that's the same one used in the 2020 pair.
Whether or not the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low 2022 is just a sample remains to be seen, but there's no doubt that CPFM have something pretty big cooking. Let us know what you think of Cynthia Lu's latest release, and while you're here, you might as well take a sneak peek of the Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low "Reverse Zebra"!
