After getting a very brief glimpse earlier this month, we're now taking our best look yet at the Carpet Company x Nike SB Dunk High, and it looks like it will feature a tearaway upper! One of the most popular sneaker trends going at the moment, famously seen on pairs such as the CLOT x Nike Air Force 1 and the Travis Scott x Nike SB Dunk Low, to say that we're beyond hyped is an understatement in itself.
Made in collaboration with the Baltimore-based skate brand that was founded in 2015 by two Arab brothers, Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem, the upcoming Dunk High boasts a white leather construction. "Royal Pulse" blue panels make their way throughout the shoe, arriving on the toebox, heel, and even the Swoosh that shoots across the lateral and medial side panels.
Down below, you'll find a crisp white midsole that's lined with a slither of gum rubber, and of course, you can't talk about this Nike collaboration without mentioning the tearaway upper that reveals a "Dark Sulfur" base beneath. Decorated with a multicoloured speckles as well as a series of illustrations, you'll also find the phrase "Brought to you by the habibis at Carpet Company" at the heel, with "habibi" directly translating to "loves" or "darlings" in Arabic.
There's still no confirmed release date for the Carpet Company x Nike SB Dunk High at this moment in time, but it's expected to hit shelves within the first half of 2021. Let us know what you think of this upcoming collaboration, and in related news, the Nike Dunk High "Syracuse" from 1985 is making a comeback!
