The Casablanca x New Balance XC-72 Has Been Unveiled

The relationship between Casablanca and New Balance is stronger than ever. Last year, the Parisian label helped the Boston-based footwear company to launch the 327, and now, they've reunited once again to debut the hotly anticipated Casablanca x New Balance XC-72 - and we're taking our first look yet.

Described by sneaker designer Charlotte Lee as a "sports car for your feet", this is unlike anything we've seen before. Reminiscent of Lee's other creations such as the aforementioned 327 and the 237, this pair boasts a retro-inspired upper that's crafted from an abundance of leather and suede panels, all painted in a contrasting red, white, and yellow colour combination. A large italicised "N" glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while additional "NB" detailing makes its way around the heel.

Underneath the XC-72 is where the magic happens. With sweeping lines and tread-like ridges, it's easy to see how these are inspired by your favourite supercars. The perforated base even looks like the leather sets you'd find on bucket seats and steering wheels.
