The Casablanca x New Balance XC-72 Has the Craziest Sole in the Business

Stevie Grimes just doesn't stop, does he? After teasing a brand new 327 and 237 collaboration with NB, he's now taken to Instagram to unveil the never-before-seen Casablanca x New Balance XC-72, and it's unlike anything we've seen before. Taking the Boston brand's signature retro-futuristic aesthetic to the next level, this collaboration features one of the craziest outsoles in the game, and we're taking our first look yet!

The perfect concoction of classic and contemporary, the XC-72 was designed by Charlotte Lee, who unsurprisingly led the creation of the world-renowned 327. Working on a clean white perforated leather base, light grey suede descends upon the lacing system, toebox, and heel. An oversized orange "N" graces the lateral and medial sidewalls, while the tongue is finely embroidered with "Casablanca Tennis Club".

Of course, you can't talk about this New Balance shoe without mentioning the insane sole unit. Seen here in a different colourway from Instagram user @greatgrondino, the left side is done up with perfectly proportioned circles while the right boasts a tread pattern that seems pretty random. If the Night Stalker wore these it wouldn't have taken long for the authorities to identify his shoe print, that's for sure.
