Pharrell Williams and adidas are giving the Superstar a chunky makeover with the Superstar 92: a ’90s skate inspired remix that’s anything but low key. Think classic meets streetwear swagger, with an oversized shell toe, chunky midsole, and a design so fresh it practically does a kickflip off your feet.
First unveiled during Paris Fashion Week last summer, the Superstar 92 now takes centre stage with official images and early release details. Exclusive pre launch events will be hosted at Whitaker Group retailers A Ma Maniére and Social Status in Atlanta on 15th February, with a wider release expected in the Spring 2025 season.
The chunky Superstar 92 will debut in clean white and black colourways, each paired with three sets of vibrant, interchangeable laces. Its inflated proportions amplify signature features like the iconic three stripes and shell toe, evoking the unmistakable style of ’90s skate footwear. While adidas has experimented with chunky Superstars in the past, such as the “Superstuffed” collaboration with Kerwin Frost in 2021, the Superstar 92 pushes the concept even further with a fully reimagined silhouette.
However, a bigger design comes with a bigger price tag. While the exact price is not yet confirmed, it is expected to be significantly higher than the OG model. Check out the official images of both colourways and hit the ‘Notify me’ button for your best chance to snag these for retail.
