Everyone knows that a sneaker collaboration is nothing without good storytelling, but thankfully, that’s something Concepts always has down to a T. Amongst the retailer’s most iconic joint efforts with Nike is the Lobster series which is based on one of the North East's most famous exports and has been reimagined a number of times on the Nike SB Dunk Low. With purple, red and blue “Lobsters” all in circulation, this time the duo team up on the long-awaited Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low “Orange Lobster”, which is set to arrive alongside a 130-piece “Surreality” collection of apparel and accessories.
Portland is known for its shellfish, but the design of the “Orange Lobster” Dunk is also said to have drawn inspiration from Dali’s interpretation of the creature. This concept forms the basis of the comprehensive collection. In partnership with the artist’s estate, the capsule includes tees, jackets and hoodies, as well as exclusive women’s styles. Playing on the ever-blurring lines between streetwear and art, the theme extends to kitchen goods, a BE@RBRICK and a skate deck (it is an SB collab, after all).
We know that a lot of Nike fans have been waiting to get their hands on this collab, and the good news is that you won’t have to wait much longer. The Concepts x Nike SB Dunk “Orange Lobster” is set to launch on SNKRS and Concepts on the 2nd of December, while the rest of the collection is due to drop on the 1st. If this is set to be the catch of the year for you, then be sure to set your release reminders by hitting the links above, and in the meantime why not check out the latest collaborative effort between Needles and Vans?
