USA-based retailer DTLR has been known for its high-profile New Balance collaborations in the past, and now the duo have joined forces once again to create their take on one of the most-loved silhouettes of the moment. The DTLR x New Balance 2002R “Masquerade” is inspired by the colourful masks and decorations seen throughout the Mardi Gras celebrations, and these hues certainly suit the retro runner perfectly.
While the majority of the kicks are made up of black and grey shades, hits of blue, yellow, red, green and purple act as the perfect touches to break up the look. The uppers are crafted from premium and supple suede for a high-end look, with New Balance’s signature N logo placed on both the lateral and medial sides.
Range-specific 2002R branding is also featured, as well as NB motifs on the heel tabs and New Balance Running logos on the tongues. This all fits neatly on top of an NERGY sole unit that provides all the comfort and support that’s necessary to turn these into a pair of kicks you won’t hesitate in slipping into day after day.
If you’re looking to get your hands on this premium collaboration, then you’ll be pleased to hear that the pair are set to drop exclusively at DTLR on the 11th of February, although no news of a wider release has surfaced just yet. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest news and updates and while you’re here, check out this easter-themed New Balance 992!
